It’s official, our beloved Thuli Madonsela has officially been replaced.

Sure it comes as no surprise, but let’s just hope the president’s latest decision will uphold all Madonsela has come to represent in a country that seems to be falling apart one announcement at a time.

Releasing an official statement, The Presidency stated:

President Jacob Zuma has in terms of section 193(4) of the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa, 1996, and on the recommendation of the National Assembly, appointed Advocate Busisiwe Joyce Mkhwebane as the Public Protector of the Republic of South Africa for a period of seven years with effect from 15 October 2016.
