So peeps are headed in big numbers to Darling for Rocking The Daises, but if ever you needed a reminder to be careful this is it.

News24 is reporting bad news with their headline “Alleged drowning at Daisies”, although so far details remain sketchy.

    More from their story:

PR Representative Darryn Lee could not confirm the drowning.

“We are going through the processes to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident,” Lee said, adding that it was still being investigated.

He said the event organisers were aware of the incident.

“As soon as the investigation is complete, we will provide additional information,” he said.

Herman Eloff, Channel24 Editor, who is at the festival said the entire dam was closed off.

“The dam is closed off and there is a heavy police and ambulance presence,” he said.

    Then there’s this from CapeTalk:

The search continues for two festival-goers who reportedly went missing near a dam at the Rocking the Daisies outdoor event.

It’s alleged that two brothers were laying on an inflatable device in the dam near the Cloof Wine Estate in Darling.

EWN’s Nicola Joe Bruns reports that the one of the brothers disappeared two hours ago and dive squads have arrived on the scene to begin the search.

It is not yet confirmed whether or not they suspect the person has drowned.

Authorities are taking statements from life guards, and the festival management has not allowed media into the area.

    Seriously tragic news.

Please be safe out there festival goers.
