Today, Pretoria is expected to come to a standstill as thousands take to the streets to march towards the Pretoria Magistrates Court, where the state capture case took place.

And I say “took place”, because it is pretty much over.

Since the release of Thuli Madonsela’s report into state capture was halted, because our #Blessed Number One is obviously very scared of the information it holds, many have come out in support of Madonsela – and today was the day we would hear the conclusion of the interdict ordeal.

    Enter #SaveSouthAfrica and the EFF:

But, after what happened yesterday, everything was over pretty quickly. From Times Live:

President Jacob Zuma on Wednesday withdrew his application to interdict the release of the public protector report into state capture.

The full bench of the High Court in Pretoria had been set to hear arguments for and against the issuing of the findings.

“My instructions are to withdraw the application‚” Zuma’s advocate Anthea Platt told the court.

She added that she had received no instructions about costs.

This decision followed the court’s decision yesterday which “granted the Democratic Alliance‚ Economic Freedom Fighters‚ the Congress of the People and the United Democratic Movement leave” to intervene in the Zuma application.

Soon after, a lawyer for the DA asked the court to order that‚ should costs be awarded:

President Zuma should pay them from “his own resources”. He said the application constitutes “an abuse” of “state resources” as he was using them to “assert his personal rights”.

I, however, am just going to leave this right here:

Next up, let’s get on that ICC withdrawal issue. Cool, thanks guys.
