If you’re living around the 40 mark, you may well be familiar with this ‘Saturn – walking robot with lite-up eyes and four shooting missiles’.

I didn’t have one as a kid, but some friends of mine did and I was insanely jealous. My, how the tables have turned.

Where are their robots now? A distant memory, I’m sure. Or maybe they are still around – but I guarantee you the robots don’t work any longer and there’s no ways they have all four missiles.

I gave up looking for things on eBay a long time ago, as getting the items to South Africa was close to impossible.

That was before Postbox Courier arrived on the scene. Now I’m going mental on eBay. ‘

I even bought some vintage porcelain figurines to complete my daughter’s Winnie the Pooh set.

Anyway – back to my robot. I was hunting on eBay to find one, but they always had something wrong – a missile missing, or no original box. I wanted one that was hardly used.

And then I found this one – NEVER USED!! Haha – I win!

The guys I bought it from had never even turned it on. Never even put batteries in it – “so as not to impede the integrity of the product”.

I spent a few grand to get this one-of-a-kind piece of nostalgia and now I have it, locked up in a safe, right here in Cape Town.

If you want it, I’ve put it on Gumtree here. And if you don’t want it, that’s fine too. It just means I have it for longer.

Here’s a video I found on YouTube to remind you of how awesome this thing is:

God bless Postbox Courier, eBay and Gumtree!
