It has arrived.
Along with the dozens of gift cards on offer at selected Pick n Pay stores around the country, you will now find yourself having the option of buying one for Uber.
Handy, isn’t it? Here’s what the global transportation network company had to say about their latest offer:
Whether it’s a ride across the city or your favourite UberEATS meal delivered at Uber speed, we’re making it even easier to get what you want, when you want it and the gift cards will also make things much easier for those who wish not to use card or cash.
Available in R100 or R200 amounts, the card is just like other gift cards. If the Uber ride or UberEats fee is less than what’s on the card, the remaining amount will still be available for use. Winning.
And, in true Uber convenience, loading the gift card on your app is as easy as ordering a ride:
- Purchase your Uber gift card at your nearest store
- Open the Uber app
- Navigate to ‘Payment’ on the App Menu
- Under ‘Promotions’, select ‘Add Promo/Gift Code’
- Select ‘Add Promo/Gift Code’
- Enter the card’s Gift Code
- The promotion will be added to your Uber account
Of course, there are a few T’s & C’s:
- The Voucher Code cannot be redeemed for UberRUSH or with Family profiles.
- The value associated with this Voucher Code expires three years after the date of first activation.
- If you have other payment methods in your Uber account, the Voucher Code will be set as your default payment method.
- The Voucher Code cannot be reloaded with additional funds after purchase.
- The Voucher Code is not redeemable outside of South Africa.
- The Voucher Code is not refundable, returnable or redeemable for cash except where required by law.
- The Voucher Code is not redeemable on trips that are pre-scheduled using the “Schedule a Ride” feature.
Not too shabby, huh? Kinda the perfect excuse to get your mom to sign up and come visit you this Mother’s Day.
