    It started last week when approximately 70 000 people began to descend upon Black Rock Desert in Nevada, all in the name of Burning Man.

    This year’s theme was “Radical Ritual” and, as usual, saw some of the weirdest burners doing their thing on the ‘playa’ between August 27 and September 4, replete with art installations, burning effigies, and DJs galore.

    With our very own version of the desert celebration occurring annually at Tankwa, we are pretty waxed when it comes to understanding what it means to let your freak flag fly high – but here’s a glimpse at what went down in the States:
