Stylish, anticapitalist and loaded with twists, the third season of Mr. Robot from creator-writer-director Sam Esmail is on its way to a screen near you this Thursday.
The cyberthriller is one of television’s most engrossing shows, with its complexity and confusion enhanced by Elliot Alderson’s (Rami Malek) elaborate hallucinations.
Are we in this world or his?
Well, in the second season we spent half the time immersed in a reality that only existed in Elliot’s head, and it all ended with a bullet lodged in his gut and a clearer understanding than ever of his own culpability in all of this madness.
But what now? Well:
As you can see from the official Mr Robot Season 3 trailer [below], the cliffhanger at the end of Season 2 resolves itself in the form of Elliot waking up with no idea where he is. Elliot’s renewed focus will see the troubled protagonist working to clean up the mess he’s made in a more proactive way than we’ve seen previously — assuming the mess can even be cleaned.
Once again, Christian Slater is “Mr Robot”, the anarchist leading the group of hacktivists/cyber terrorists known as fsociety who seek to overthrow the conglomerate E Corp.
It looks like we’re in for another season of darkness, intrigue, danger and tension, and we can’t wait to see how fsociety will rally against their enemies, whether that’s the FBI or the Chinese hacker group the Dark Army.
Take a peak at Season Three via the trailer below:
