  • ANC Spelling Mistake At Elective Conference Sums It Up Nicely

    They’ve done it again.

Spending over R24 million on hotel rooms alone for this past weekend’s festivities – because let’s be real, the ANC’s 54th National Conference is just one big farce / party / time to say goodbye – it didn’t take long before Twitter got hold of an image I am sure the ANC would have rather kept behind closed doors, archived incorrectly next to their other dirty secrets.

Instead of welcoming congregants to the Dining Facility, the word “dinning” was used instead. It does actually exist, however, and means either a loud drilling noise, or, rather apt in this case, making someone learn or remember an idea by constant repetition.

Jacob Zuma is still number one. Jacob Zuma is still number one. Jacob Zuma is still number one.

Anyhow, take a look at the national embarrassment:

Of course, it’s not the first time it has happened – last year they had to deal with all these terrible mistakes.

There was the incident of birthday cake misgivings:

T-shirt faux pas – no ragrets, ne?

And this beauty – yes, we do need more services, even with an extra ‘r’:

    It’s exhausting, isn’t it?

So shall we get back to that R25 million spent on the ANC’s party this past weekend? Well, this from Times LIVE:

The Sunday Times has established that the ANC booked rooms in 35 hotels all over Gauteng, which translated into 3,308 rooms with a total of 6,145 beds.

Aside from the mountain of costs related to its national conference, which began yesterday, the ANC had to pay at least half of the total amount to secure the rooms, with the remainder, close to R12-million, due by the end of the conference on Wednesday.

Of course, this amount “excludes the cost of hiring the Nasrec expo centre and catering costs”.

    Party, ek se.
