Times are tough over at Tesla, friends.
The last time we spoke about Elon Musk, we were reflecting on Tesla’s awful weekend at the beginning of the month. That included some April Fools’ tweets from the man himself, which went down like a bag of lead balloons.
With the company taking serious strain, Musk revealed that he’s taken to kapping a dos on the office floor.
For real – over to the Telegraph:
Musk explained he had been forced to sleep on the floor as at Tesla’s factory in Fremont, California, as work ramps up on its Model 3 electric sedan.
“Last time I was here, I actually slept literally on the floor, because the couch was too narrow,” Musk said.
During the interview with US station CBS, we actually caught a glimpse of the offending couch:
That’s no way for a billionaire to live.
Enter a GoFundMe campaign called ‘Buy Elon Musk a Couch‘, the aim of which is pretty obvious.
Aiming for $1 000, they have since zoomed right past that target. At the time of writing, the donated amount stood at close to $6 500.
$6 500 is around R78 000, and although I’m no couch expert I’m pretty sure you can pick up a Chesterfield for less than that.
The man who started the GoFundMe, Ben Sullins, says that should Musk decline the offer, the money will be donated to charity.
Now we wait for Elon to tweet a picture of a decent couch in his office and we can all rest easy.
