In the case of a lucky water monitor, its life was saved after an overprotective buffalo rescued it from the clutches of a lion at Kruger National Park.
But in this brave crayfish’s case, it had to risk life and limb to rescue its own damn self.
Literally, the little bugger lost a limb to save itself from a spicy demise.
A user named Jiuke managed to capture footage of a crayfish sacrificing its claw to survive a boiling pot of spicy soup at a restaurant in China. According to the report by The Guardian, the crustacean is shown “gripping one of its own claws before detaching it and making a break for freedom, with others inside the pot destined for diners’ plates”.
That’s freakin’ hardcore.
