You can love him or loathe him, and of late it seems like the latter is proving more popular, but there’s no denying that Jose Mourinho is headline-writing gold.

The last time we heard from the Portuguese manager he was storming out of a press conference following a 0-3 trouncing by Spurs.

That led to many Manchester United fans calling for his head (how fickle that lot has become), although a subsequent 2-0 win over Brighton will keep the wolves at bay for now.

Fast forward to this weekend, and the dreaded international break, and Jose decided to visit Wembley to watch England take on Spain.

He would have been keeping a close eye on the likes of Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, but it was a rope outside of Club Wembley that caused the night’s biggest headache.

I reckon there are many United fans having a good laugh at this, too:

If that video doesn’t work, you can see the trip here.

To his credit, he seemed to laugh it off. Not the most graceful of dives, though – he should ask Jesse Lingard or Paul Pogba for some tips.

The on-field action didn’t disappoint either, with England and Spain putting on an entertaining show. Here are the match highlights:

Watch from 7:15 above and you’ll see the night’s major talking point, which was Danny Welbeck’s late equaliser that was not to be.

I reckon David de Gea, fresh off the back of an average World Cup and an average start to the Premier League, can count himself very fortunate there.

Just five more days until the Premier League is back – yes, please.
