I’m sure Stephen King is a nice guy, but he really does know how to write a terrifying story.
The less said about the clown in the IT movies the better, and now Ewan McGregor is in town for a fresh set of nightmares.
You’re probably familiar with The Shining, the 1980 classic where Jack Nicholson made the words ‘Here’s Johnny’ instantly recognisable.
It also turned Lisa and Louise Burns, the twin girls from the movie, into objects of interest – you can see something of an update here.
Let’s get stuck into Doctor Sleep, with the info below from the official Warner Bros trailer:
“Doctor Sleep” continues the story of Danny Torrance, 40 years after his terrifying stay at the Overlook Hotel in The Shining. Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and newcomer Kyliegh Curran star in the supernatural thriller, directed by Mike Flanagan, from his own screenplay based upon the novel by Stephen King.
Still irrevocably scarred by the trauma he endured as a child at the Overlook, Dan Torrance has fought to find some semblance of peace. But that peace is shattered when he encounters Abra, a courageous teenager with her own powerful extrasensory gift, known as the “shine.”
That sets the scene without giving too much away, so let’s head for the trailer:
Doctor Sleep hits the big screen on November 8 in the US, and October 30 worldwide.
