We live in an age where we get almost all of our information online.

Where you get your information, in this sense, is key.

We’ve all seen what happens when people start believing what they read on alt-right “news” sites.

Let’s take Jeffrey Epstein, for example. It’s only a short leap from ‘convicted paedophile ends his life’ to wild speculation about the Queen and the Illuminati.

Life is too short for this kind of crazy.

The above has a lot to do with why I was pleased with Narratiive’s recently released stats for July 2019, measuring the most read and visited tech, news and business sites in South Africa.

    MyBroadband has the specifics:

Narratiive is the official traffic measurement partner of the IAB South Africa and provides accurate traffic and demographics statistics for South Africa’s top websites.

News24 is the largest website in South Africa with 6.7 million unique monthly browsers, followed by TimesLive with 5.8 million and The South African with 4.4 million.

Shifting the focus to online publishers, 24.com is dominant with 18.5 million unique monthly browsers, followed by Tiso Blackstar, Caxton Digital, and MyBroadband.

Nicely done, South Africa. You’ve made some decent life choices.

Speaking of good life choices, a shout-out to the 675 900 unique users who visited 2OV between July 10 and August 10. Keep living the holiday, friends:

I’ll leave you with Narratiive for a full list of the largest online publishers in SA:

In terms of business publications, BusinessTech is leading the way:
