Nature is pretty cool.
And it doesn’t get cooler (or cuter) than Tira.
Tira is a rare baby zebra – or ‘foal’ for the pedantic out there – who was born a little different from the rest of her zeal.
Yes, a group of zebra is called a zeal – or a dazzle.
Instead of stripes, Tira has a dark coat and spots.
Traveller24 has more on what makes Tira special:
According to National Geographic the foal has a genetic mutation called, pseudomelanism which is a kind of melanism – a development of dark-coloured pigment melanin in the skin or its appendages.
Spotted (mind the pun) in Kenya’s Masai Mara National Reserve by a photographer Frank Liu, and a few others, when she was just a week old, she stood out among the plains of grazing zebra.
She is adorable. Take a look:
Zebra stripes are unique to each zebra. They’re almost like a fingerprint. Tira takes it to the next level.
Consider that your cute-animal-video-fix for the day.
