We know we can’t always rely on leaked reports when it comes to upcoming Apple products, but there’s no harm in dreaming.

After all, the Apple Watch has been receiving a lot of excellent press over the last while.

We could talk for ages about the multiple excellent reasons to get your hands on one, not least of which that it’s been known to save lives.

So with that in mind, let’s see what The Verge has to say about what industry insiders think Apple has planned for the Apple Watch going forward.

Apple appears to be readying some big changes to WatchOS 7. [Reports indicate] that the next major Apple Watch update, WatchOS 7, will finally include sleep tracking. The reports are based on leaked iOS 14 code, and WatchOS 7 is said to include a new personalized sleep goal in the Health app on an iPhone that will also be used to improve sleep duration and quality. Apple Watch sleep tracking has been rumored for months.

We already knew about NapBot, which advertises itself as a machine learning-powered sleep tracker app for Apple Watch and iPhone that packs a ton of features into the app, including giving users a detailed sleep history.

In addition to this, rumour has it that the new system will allow users to share watch faces with friends and family. Many are hoping that this signals the arrival of customisable watch faces with loads of creative options.

    More on that watch face:

watchOS 7 will also reportedly include a new Infograph Pro watch face with a tachymeter feature. Tachymeters are used on analog watches to covert elapsed time into a speed calculation based on travel time or distance measured.

Other updates to get excited about include detailed parental control options for children using Apple Watches and cleaner app management, to ensure that you’re not reliant on extensions.

Apple usually announces upcoming products and upgrades at the company’s June Worldwide Developers Conference, but it might be delayed due to coronavirus.

Nevertheless, the leaked info on their latest tech suggests that, whatever Apple announces, and whenever it’s announced, the Apple WatchOS 7 is bound to be a game-changer.
