A little handwashing goes a long way to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
Other measures to limit the spread include not touching your face and maintaining a distance of six feet from other people at all times.
As you can imagine, licking your fingers is a no-no at this point, which is why KFC was faced with a bit of backlash for bad timing when they released another ‘finger-licking good’ ad campaign in Britain just after the country was forced to face a rise in confirmed COVID-19 cases.
Not their best work.
Obviously, Nando’s saw this and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to take a stab at its competitor.
Over to TimesLIVE:
Fast food chain Nando’s is on top of its game when it comes to current affairs.
It took to Twitter on Wednesday to call on customers to practice good hygiene by regularly washing their hands, in line with calls from the SA health ministry and World Health Organisation (WHO).
It did so in true Nando’s style, with a pinch of wit and, of course, shade for its competitor, KFC, whose slogan is, “It’s finger lickin’ good”.
Behold, the shade of it all:
KFC has been missing the mark a lot lately. The Zinger Popcorn Box advert, which aired in Australia, led to a public apology.
Nando’s, on the other hand, just keeps getting it right.
