Over the past week, life has been turned upside down in South Africa.

As we struggle to stop the spread of the coronavirus (or, COVID-19) it has become clear that the only way that we’re going to beat this thing, is if all sectors of society work together.

It’s encouraging to see companies putting their best foot forward to do what they can to make things a little easier.

Pick n Pay has set aside an hour each week for pensioners so that they can shop safely, and with universities across South Africa closing across the country, Stor-Age Self Storage is stepping in to help students who have to move out of their campus accommodation.

The company is offering one month of complimentary self-storage at one of their 50 stores nationwide to assist students who now unexpectedly find themselves with nowhere to safely store their stuff.

The offer is available to all students with a valid student ID and is subject to availability, so you’ll want to act fast to take advantage of this great offer.

Stor-Age spokesperson Chris Oosthuizen had the following to say about the initiative:

We understand that students across South Africa are being negatively impacted by the university closures due to the coronavirus pandemic. With an increasing number of students being instructed to leave campus and go home, they are being left in a difficult situation as to where to safely store their items until they return.

We hope that our offering of complimentary self storage will make the disruption a little easier for them.

Stor-Age is also offering all students two free boxes to help them pack up and their belongings before safely storing them away.

    Adds Oosthuizen,

We don’t know how long the closures will last but for many students the added stress of moving out of their accommodation to travel back home is weighing heavily upon them. At least now they have another solution.

Give Stor-Age a call on 0861 18 18 18, or visit https://stor-age.co.za/quote and use the voucher code ‘STUDENTSUPPORT’ to claim your month of free storage.

You can check out the terms and conditions, HERE.

If you aren’t a student, and you’re looking for storage options, we’d hate for you to feel left out.

Stor-Age is offering 2OV readers 50% off their first month’s rent, so take a look at their location list and find an option near you.
