If you’re a parent, you’re probably already wise to the slew of financial costs that come with having children, not least of which ensuring your little one is given a decent education.

Generally, public school will set you back between R30 000 and  R40 000 per annum, so you could be looking at approximately R175 000 for five-years of high school education.

If you want to send your child to a private school, you need to be ready to pay some incredibly high school fees.

Tuition will cost you anything between R100 000 and R300 000 a year. Yearly increases are usually well above the inflation rate, leaving parents paying a total of anywhere between R600 000 and R2 million for a high school education.

And that’s just one child. If you have more than one…I’ll leave you to do the maths.

Given the option, most people will opt for a private education for their children. It comes complete with heritage, legacy and a fair amount of prestige. At the same time, surely your child’s future is more important than the history of the institution where they’re educated?

I also don’t need to remind you that after high school, you need to put them through university, because realistically, sans a university degree, they’re going to have a tough time finding a job in South Africa.

If all of this made you want to lie down in a dark room with a towel over your eyes, I’m sure you’re not alone.

Thankfully, there is a way to give your child a quality education that will help to secure them a place at a top university, without breaking the bank.

Valenture Institute boasts a faculty of some of the world’s finest educators with a combined experience of over a century of educating in a vast range of fields and core subjects.

If prestige is what you’re after, Valenture is affiliated with Harvard University, and it doesn’t get more prestigious than the Ivy League. Your child will also have the opportunity to complete the International GCSE and A and AS-Level qualifications, preparing them for a tertiary education anywhere in the world.

Apart from receiving an excellent education, Valenture Institute also prepares your child for the world by incorporating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals directly into their curriculum through their customised SDG Labs.

All of this will cost you roughly R75 000 per annum, which is well below the standard rates for private education of this calibre.

Valenture is currently accepting mid-year applications from students looking for more from their high school education.

It’s worth downloading their info pack if you’re keen to find out more. Once you’ve filled out your email address, and phone number, the Institute will forward you a comprehensive PDF of everything that they offer.

Following that, an Admissions Counsellor can give you a call to answer any and all of your questions.

Their future is in your hands – make sure it’s a bright one.
