There are many things I have missed over these past few months of confinement.
Friends, family, coughing in public without receiving dirty looks, having to make excuses for not attending things I said I would attend a few weeks earlier when four drinks in – the list goes on.
OK, I’ll remove the last one on that list, but I’ll add watching people try and parallel park outside the 2oceansvibe office on Loop Street.
Nothing causes panic quicker than a few people eyeballing your skills mid-park, and I’ll be the first to admit that I will rather park a few blocks away and walk than try and squeeze into a spot in front of a crowd.
The same cannot be said for the drivers featured in a video shared yesterday by the Guinness World Records YouTube account, simply titled “Perfect parallel parking”.
Truck parking, reversing, triple cars, they’re all there:
Our local traffic cops could learn a thing or two from those pros.
If you’re so busy that you can’t spare the three and a half minutes to watch the full video above, here’s my favourite:
You can find more awesome parallel parking records in our new YouTube video.
Spoiler: Alastair Moffatt features with more handbrake turns like this 👇
