    Here we go again.

    Facebook is making changes.

As of September, we’ll all have to get used to a new look, whereas before there was the option to stick to ‘Classic Facebook’.

Whenever the social media platform does this, we’re all treated to a feed flooded with complaints from dedicated Facebook users who need a minute, before they accept the inevitable, and go back to whatever they were doing before.

And, to be fair, it isn’t blindsiding us. The change has been in the works for months.

The new and somewhat improved Facebook, as SlashGear points out, isn’t without its benefits.

I’ve been using it for months without incident – it’s a simple visual refresh.

The Feed is still in the centre of your screen, but everything else is spaced out, which is a little easier on the eyes.

Facebook is also faster, and it’s simpler to find what you’re looking for on the site.

In the new design, it’s also promoting a “People” section, where you can see large squares dedicated to friends who have recently updated their Facebook Stories, as well as a contact list organised to promote your most-used contacts who are actively online.

If you need to ease yourself into the new aesthetic, you can try it out by clicking the down arrow in the top right corner, and selecting ‘Switch to New Facebook’.

    Here’s what that looks like:

    See? Everything is fine.

If you want to try ‘Dark Mode’, you’ll also find that by clicking on the button in the top right-hand corner and selecting ‘Dark Mode’, at which point you will be confronted with a moodier Facebook.

Before you panic, take a moment, because it’s pretty much exactly the same, except instead of a white background, you’ll have a black background.

You can still post your ‘live, laugh, love’ quotes with ease, but they’ll just be offset against a darker theme.

Deep breaths, you will get through this.

    I believe in you.
