If you were hoping for a Fast Times at Ridgemont High remake, I’m afraid that isn’t in the works.

I can understand the appeal. It was one of the most iconic movies of the 80s, and worth a watch if you haven’t already seen it.

You can treat yourself to a table read of the script by some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Jennifer Aniston, Brad Pitt, Morgan Freeman, Henry Golding, and Matthew McConaughey.

You’ll be pleased to know that Jennifer Aniston was far more impressive during the read-through than she was in the attempted Friends reunion at this year’s Grammys.

However, the real star of the charity event, which brought everyone together to raise funds COVID-19 charity CORE and reform charity Reform Alliance, was Shia LaBeouf.

LaBeouf stepped in to read the part of Jeff Spicoli, one of the film’s three main stoners, reports InStyle, smoking what may or may not be a real joint in a car in his garage.

You’ll see why in a minute.

Watch from the beginning to really set the scene, or skip straight ahead to LaBeouf at the 35-second mark:

And the Oscar goes to…

It wasn’t long before the memes started rolling in:

Finally:

I can feel that the last one in my soul.

You should also take in Brad and Jen’s steamy scene, narrated by Morgan Freeman:

This Tweet sums up how most people felt about that:

There’s method acting…and then there’s Shia LaBeouf.
