Tragedy can strike anytime, at any event, but it sure does seem to love a gender reveal party.
There was a death back in February, when a father-to-be from New York state died after a device he was building for a gender reveal party exploded, but now a party itself has turned deadly.
Adding to our exorbitant list of gender reveals gone wrong, is the story of an ‘it’s a girl!’ plane crash in the ocean off Cancun.
It was this past Tuesday when the parents-to-be sat in a boat and watched as a plane with the banner about their baby girl twirled head-first into the waves.
Unfortunately, two of the four people on board were killed.
The Cessna 206 plane, which was rented from a company called Xomex, was meant to simply fly overhead, perform some stunts, and then fly safely back to land while the parents relished in knowing (via a plane, nogal) the gender of their baby.
But as I said, tragedy loves a good gender reveal party.
Via The New York Post, emergency responders off the coast of Cancun were called upon immediately, but unfortunately, two people died.

There is still very little information about who exactly died on board, and why the plane nosedived in the first place, but an investigation is underway.
Here is a video of the ordeal:
Some of the comments you hear in the video (translated) go from the jubilant “it’s a girl!”, to an unsettled “It’s all good as long as it doesn’t end up crashing into us!”, before ending in sheer disbelief.
