Given that we’re in the middle of winter, and a serious cold front or two at that, sipping on a cocktail probably isn’t the first thought on your mind.

Fair enough, but the time will come, and there’s no harm in being prepared.

Maybe you’re the type who likes the song and dance of preparing your favourite cocktail, with the shaker out and all the bits and bobs.

I respect your commitment to your craft. No, really.

I also respect those who prefer the art of sipping more than the art of preparation, which is why I no longer stand at whichever hipster hangout is considered cool with a frustrated grin while the bartender puts on a show.

Give me the drink, my friend, and do away with everything else.

Better yet, let me remain at home and drink cocktails in comfort, using quality mixes from Sir Fruit’s Cocktail Mixes range.

Cosmopolitan, Margarita, Mojito, Piña Colada, and Strawberry Daiquiri – deliciously made with only the good stuff, all you need do is add your favourite tipple.

Or not, because we know that the stiff stuff isn’t for everyone.

Either way, you have that perfect cocktail flavour.

Sir Fruit’s Cocktail Mixes come in 750ml servings, and each page on their site has mixing instructions, as well as a full list of all ingredients.

    The Piña Colada, for example:

    • What you need – six shots Sir Fruit Piña Colada Mix (150ml), one shot of malibu (25ml), one shot of rum (25ml), and ice
    • Half fill the cocktail shaker with cubed ice
    • Add Piña Colada Mix, malibu & rum and shake hard
    • Strain the mixture out using a cocktail strainer. Serve over fresh ice in a tall stemmed glass and garnish with fresh mint, pineapple and a cherry

For a Virgin Piña Colada follow the same method but use eight shots of Piña Colada Mix and exclude the alcohol.

Well done, you’re a mixologist now.
