Behold, the best Zoom mishaps and work-from-home moments that have come out of the first half of this year.
Despite the world being more than a year into a pandemic that has forced many of us to make very good friends with Zoom, there are still far too many people out there who seem to be struggling with video call etiquette.
Although, those of us on the sideline watching are not complaining, at all.
Mashable has shared some Zoom fails that we didn’t report on, but we will also throw in some classics that we’ve covered before.
They’re hilarious and bizarre enough to warrant a second watch, anyway.
Alright, without further ado…
The lawyer who insisted “I am not a cat” while accidentally showing up to virtual court with a cat filter on
The filtered Texas lawyer, who is otherwise known as Rod Ponton, gets points for showing “incredible grace” throughout the ordeal:
The Ohio State Senator who video called into a debate on a distracted driving law while… driving distractedly
Depending on who you ask, this is probably the dumbest or the bravest Zoom fail.
Andrew Brenner was in support of new laws for stricter penalties for distracted driving while clearly driving and participating in the video call.
It’s between the seatbelt appearing through a very badly implemented fake Zoom background, and his own distraction while driving, for the biggest mishap:
This Ohio State Senator thought he was slick, using a Zoom background of his home office while driving… debating a bill for harsher penalties for distracted driving https://t.co/XfangsLaHX pic.twitter.com/r55ti7bsma

This one is hard to say – someone got a butt injection while streaming a live court appearance
Miami Herald crime reporter David Ovalle documented this one, which is perhaps the strangest scene of multitasking ever:

Jason freakin’ Sudeikis accepting an award at the Golden Globes in a sick tie-dyed hoodie
Although this one is a work-from-home moment, it is still worth mentioning:
huge congrats to Jason Sudeikis not only for winning but for making history tonight as the first person ever to accept an award in a tie dye hoodie.🙌 #GoldenGlobes pic.twitter.com/uefcQ3a0CH

Appearing in Zoom court with the screen name “Buttf*cker 3000”
American Judge Jeffrey Middleton gave this absolute nincompoop, real name Saxaon, a mouthful after he forgot to change his Zoom screen name when he made his virtual court appearance.
Saxaon was consequently put into Zoom jail to think about what he’d done:

This town council Zoom meeting became a bizarre and viral video after it descended into chaos amidst name-calling
The extraordinary meeting began with an unseen councillor mumbling “f*** off” under their breath before Jackie Weaver (whose name trended on Twitter) put someone else in a virtual waiting room
As we said before, this one is best enjoyed without too many spoilers, so observe the chaos of the meeting spliced into a three-and-a-half-minute highlights reel:
You’ll be pleased to know there were plenty of memes and remixes featuring Jackie and the rest of the cast above.
What a year it has been, on-screen and off-screen, right?
