Being the butt of jokes and death threats as the world watches you and your famous ex-husband reveal every detail of what appears to be a mutually abusive relationship has to take its toll.
While Amber Heard may have to fork out $50 million for the defamation lawsuit pitted against her by Johnny Depp should the jury rule in his favour, at least she has a lavish oasis to escape to afterwards.
Valued at $1 million in California’s Yucca Valley, near Joshua Tree National Park, is Heard’s three-bedroom, three-bathroom desert home that she purchased in 2019 for $570 000.
The home spans more than 222 square metres on a property that stretches over nearly six acres of land.
According to a source, Heard really connects to the desert and the artistic community that it attracts, becoming the “one place she can get away from everything”.
Two hours outside of Los Angeles, the home has been called a sanctuary. Reports suggest she moved in earlier this year.

As Heard gears up to escape the red-hot spotlight of public scrutiny, she should prepare for some serious heat. Temperatures in the summer average 95 degrees in California’s Mojave Desert — but the home has been equipped with low-E aluminum windows to keep the place cool.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of Heard’s property is a custom-built 110-feet-long bridge that leads to a mountainside gazebo. Other features include solid iron front doors, a surround stereo system wired throughout the home, and a 1,200-square-foot garage.

She’ll be living there with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, who she secretly had via surrogate in July last year:
Her daughter was seen at the residence in one of her latest photos posted to Instagram amid Heard’s claims that she’s received violent threats urging her to “put my baby in the microwave.”
