You know it’s a solid fashion moment when a collection throws it back to the 1970s.
When it’s apparel designed with everyone’s favourite Monday-hating, spag-bol-loving, sleepy fat cat Garfield, then the moment becomes even more iconic.
You might not be able to tell or show your boss how you feel about Mondays, but Garfield is there to say and do it for us.
PUMA is aware that it’s all about that ‘Cattitude’, and so its latest collaboration with Paramount Global is bringing Jim Davis’ 1978 classic newspaper comic strip character back to life.
The lazy cartoon cat is doing his thing on a bunch of new apparel and accessories, as well as a new Suede shoe colourway, with details inspired by his love of food and his chilled vibes.
The PUMA X Garfield collection is ultimately offering “delicious treats for hungry cats”:

Fortress Of Solitude has more about what’s on offer:
There are plenty of playful designs for both adults and kids in the pack. These stand out with bold colours and fun graphics. In terms of the apparel, the collection includes tees, a hoodie, shorts and sweatpants.
These include co-branded graphics featuring Garfield himself. There is also a hat and a few backpack options as part of the included accessories.

When it comes to the sneaker, the classic character of Garfield was paired with a classic from the PUMA archives. The PUMA Suede has been reimagined with contrasting bold colours and graphics, with playful details throughout. This includes a hangtag with the statement: “Big fat hairy deal!”

You can snap up the PUMA X Garfield collection from the online PUMA store, or head to selected PUMA stores at the V&A Waterfront, Braamfontein, Gateway, and Menlyn.
“One small push for cat, one giant leap for good taste,” I can imagine Garfield saying.
