  • You Don’t Understand The Size Of Roman Abramovich’s Jets That The US Are About To Seize

This Russian billionaire might be losing his wings.

Russian oligarch Roman Abramovich is at risk of losing over R5,6 billion worth of private aircraft, and you will not believe the scale of the planes in question.

Abramovich is in hot water with American officialdom, after violating the export sanctions imposed by the US when Russia invaded Ukraine in February.

According to Simple Flying, a seizure warrant has been issued for Abromovich’s Boeing 787, and for his Gulfstream G650ER, both of which he flew from the US – where they were built – to Russia in March this year in violation of the US export sanctions that were imposed at the start of the conflict.

Uh-oh. Read more about it over at Robb Report.

It’s insane to think that an individual can own a plane with the kind of capacity of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, which conveys up to 290 passengers in a commercial configuration.

Abramovich’s soon-to-be-confiscated Gulfstream, meanwhile, is the acme of luxury private airfare, with enough room for eighteen passengers, excluding crew.

Imagine something like this standard Gulfstream G650ER:

The private set-up of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner is massively luxurious: Up to forty passengers can enjoy their own cabins.

The interior can boast features like an en-suite bathroom, a luxury master bedroom, and a fully-functional dining room and living area.

Um, excuse me, how long is this flight?

Also, these are available for rental from luxury charter companies if you’re so inclined.
