I should start by giving the couple in the video below a little credit. As things stand, they have not yet been apprehended.
You could also take that as a sleight on the level of our stretched thin and under-resourced policing.
Either way, a Durban couple who have been caught on CCTV footage stealing from service station shops while pretending to be customers should still consider tweaking their modus operandi.
TimesLIVE reports that police are now on the lookout for the couple and alerts have been issued across private security social media platforms.
I have watched the below video thrice (it sounds fancier than ‘three times’) and one glaring error stands out. Why is the woman totally emptying the contents of one shelf into her pants?
The storage capacity of said pants is astonishing, granted, but take a little from various shelves and maybe nobody will notice, right?

Somebody did notice and now they’re on the law enforcement radar:
Police spokesperson Lt-Col Nqobile Gwala confirmed a case of theft had been opened against them at Wentworth SAPS.
“It is alleged by the complainant that on July 10 2022 at 16:05, he noticed a certain shelf at his workplace was empty. He went to view the CCTV footage and saw a male and a female stealing goods from the shelf.”
Because she cleaned out the entire shelf, someone from the service station shop noticed.
A closer look at the footage showed the couple driving a black Opel Corsa.
Hopefully, they slip up again soon and can be held accountable for their crimes.
