This domino display, consisting of an almost impossible amount of dominoes, took nearly a week to assemble and mere minutes to topple down.
There’s a life lesson in that, but we’re here to talk about the world record.
One of the judges on the Fox series Domino Masters, Steve Price, brought a team of artists to Trillium Academy, where they attempted to break the record for the longest domino wall in the world.
The colourful wall consisting of 54 321 dominoes was wrapped around the entire gym at the Taylor, Michigan school, with elaborate displays and gimmicks added in.
Plus, nearly 50 000 more dominoes were used to create multiple chain reactions around the gym.
It was enough to earn the team of domino artists a Guinness World Record for the longest domino wall.
Here’s the assistant principal Deanna Doede, via UPI:
“One of our students, Emily Wright, actually started the topple,” [sic] Doede told the News-Herald newspaper.
“The wall itself was the final piece that toppled. There were multiple chain reactions that led up to that incredible moment.”
I never thought I would be so enthralled by a bunch of dominoes falling, but it’s genuinely mesmerising:
My favourite was the flowers, the palm tree-looking thing, and the balloons.
