Elon Musk felt the sting of the Brazillian first lady’s sharp tongue during a G20 event on the weekend, at which she spoke about the need to regulate social media to rein in misinformation.
As a ship’s horn sounded in the background, Janja Lula da Silva joked, “I think it’s Elon Musk,” before adding with a bit more venom, “I’m not afraid of you, f**k you, Elon Musk.”
The president’s wife spoke at an event ahead of the Rio de Janeiro summit of the G20 group of largest nations set for Monday and Tuesday.
Musk reacted to a video of her remarks by posting a LOL emoji and followed it up with “They are going to lose the next election.”
@thenewsmovement Brazil’s First Lady said ‘fuck you, Elon Musk’ at an event before the G20 summit in Rio de Janeiro. Janja Lula da Silva was speaking at event about social media regulation when she heard a loud noise above her. She then said “I think it’s Elon Musk,” and went on to say she wasn’t afraid of him. Finally she said “fuck you, Elon Musk”. Janja Lula da Silva’s husband is Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva who leads the Worker’s Party. Billionaire Elon Musk owns social media platform X and has just been named by president-elect Donald Trump to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk reposted the video and said ‘Lol’. In August, Brazil’s supreme court banned X after Musk refused to have a legal representative in the country and not suspending accounts that spread alleged misinformation. Musk paid a fine of over $5 million in September and complied with courts orders and the ban was lifted. The former president and her husband’s political opponent Jair Bolsonaro said on X that Brazil “now has another diplomatic problem.” #brazil #g20 #elonmusk #news ♬ original sound – The News Movement
The salty comment comes as Musk, who views himself as a champion of free speech, is facing-off with governments such as Australia and the United Kingdom that are seeking to prevent the spread of online misinformation.
Brazil’s president also recently lashed out at the tech bro, saying that people with businesses in Brazil must follow local laws and the world was “not obliged to put up with Musk’s far-right ideology just because he is rich.”
As Trump’s new bestie, Elon has now injected himself into almost every aspect of life – business, tech, space, social media, and now politics. All that’s left is religion and the fast food industry and then we all live on Planet Musk.
