February has never been one of our favourite months, and nobody has articulated the depressive nature of the second month of the year better than journalist Kevin Killeen.
Killeen hosts A Whole ‘Nother Story on St. Luois-based radio station KMOX, and is the author of several books, including Never Hug a Nun and Snowglobes and Handgrenades.
However, it’s the comic novelist’s deadpan description of February that really got us. Originally recorded in 2016, the clip of Killeen lamenting February goes viral every year.
Granted, the Northern Hemisphere does have winter in February, but down here we have the February winds, the heat, and the financial fallout from a raucous Christmas holiday. As Kevin says: “February feels as if something great happened, but now it’s over with”.
