How To Battle The Cold Fronts Blowing In? Binge This Netflix Thriller With More Twists Than A Storm

Netflix just added six episodes of a critically acclaimed TV show to its roster, which will definitely add some heat to this icy winter.

Winter’s blowing hard and fast, and if you’re looking for the perfect way to ride out the icy weather, may we suggest hot tea, a thick blanket, and six brand-new episodes of Departure, the high-stakes thriller that just dropped its third season on Netflix?

Forget heaters because this one brings the fire.

The hit series, known for its edge-of-your-seat disasters and conspiracies, has already gripped audiences with a missing plane and a sabotaged high-speed train. Now it’s making waves — literally — with its latest mystery: the sudden, unexplained sinking of a ferry carrying over 300 passengers.

“The high-octane conspiracy drama returns for a third season, focusing on the mysterious sinking of a sea ferry bound for Newfoundland, Canada. The investigation team, led by Kendra Malley and Dominic Hayes begin to unravel the many tangled threads of the investigation. The team must race to uncover the truth behind the disaster and help to heal the damage caused by the terrible tragedy.”

Archie Panjabi returns as the ever-composed Kendra Malley, joined by Kris Holden-Ried’s Dominic Hayes and the delightfully nerdy Theo (Mark Rendall, back with more droll charm than ever). And this season adds Eric McCormack to the mix as Cole Banks, just in case things weren’t already tense enough.

In terms of what the critics are saying, The Australian notes how “Panjabi is a good lead, if a little deadpan at times, quietly anchoring the show, and this season, the nerdish Theo, played with a nice side of drollery by Mark Rendall, returns to the team.”

And Variety weighs in: “A drama that will hook those who seek from their viewing a charge of adrenaline, if not always the most rigorously challenging of mysteries.”

It’s not reinventing the wheel, but it is spinning it fast enough to leave you dizzy and dying to hit “Next Episode.”

So while the temperatures drop outside, crank up the suspense and settle in, because all three seasons of Departure are now ready to stream on Netflix.

Just maybe avoid the ferry bookings for a bit.
