A hiker fell about 30m to his death yesterday after a walk up Lion’s Head went horribly wrong. Ibrahim Salie fell onto a ledge and was later declared dead on the scene.
It is believed Salie died as a result of sustaining head and hip injuries during the fall. His daughter and a friend were also present when it happened.
But instead of providing assistance, it is reported that fellow hikers instead took photographs and tweeted about their experience.
During the 45 minute wait for paramedics, only one hiker attempted to assist him. He is only known as a 25-year-old named Zac, and later also took to Twitter (username: @Zac_R) to express his shock at the lack of action from other bystanders:
