A rather ambitious cleaning lady was able to steal a commuter train from a station near Stockholm and drive it for three minutes before crashing into a three-story apartment building last night.

The train slammed into the first-floor kitchen of the building where three families live. The driver had to be rushed to the hospital with “serious” injuries, but none of the building’s residents were hurt.

Transit officials in Sweden are at a loss to explain how the 20-year-old member of the train cleaning staff got ahold of the keys to the train or why she was stealing it.

However, Tomas Hedenius, a spokesman for the train company told the AP that driving an actual train isn’t particularly difficult.

Generally speaking that’s possible even if you’re not a train driver. You can read about it on the Internet, or observe how others do it.
