Those colourful balls of fun that people sometimes confuse with M&M’s or Rascals now have a new quirky and innovative campaign. Skittles, along with advertising agency DDB, have created a way to make the “sugary goodness” sweet into an interactive form of advertising.
The video above shows Tommy sitting on the couch in his grandmother’s house. A pink ceramic horse, with a creepy “Charlie the Unicorn” type aura, begins to taunt Tommy into smashing him, turning him into Skittles.
The “Smash the Rainbow. Taste the Rainbow” snippet of the video shown then turns into an interactive chance for the viewer to choose which ceramic figurine Tommy smashes next.
