Some have called this Die Antwood’s groupie while others suggest the creature could be a tokoloshe or better yet an alien. This strange looking creature was discovered by tourists on Wednesday just outside of Plettenberg Bay.
The news of the creature has spread quickly. Soon German newspapers wanted to confirm with local authorities that a “half man, half donkey” type creature had been discovered.
But the creature was no surprise to Dr Magdalena Braum, of The Crags Veterinary Clinic. Braum said:
What I saw is not uncommon.
Anyone could see it was a baby baboon.
According to Dr Braum the cause of the baby baboon’s death was a bite to the head. She also explained the baboon’s elongated body was a result of its mother carrying it around for weeks after it had died.
