They’ve already cloned sheep, now they want to clone a Beatle. Not just any Beatle though, the most famous of the lot – John Lennon. Dr Michael Zuk, dentist and owner of John Lennon’s rotten tooth from the 1960s, hopes to sequence Lennoon’s DNA from the tooth and use “technology” to clone the Beatles’ frontman. He had this to say,
With researchers working on ways to clone mammoths, the same technology certainly could make human cloning a reality. To potentially say I had a small part in bringing back one of rock’s greatest stars would be mind-blowing.
John Lennon was murdered by Mark Chapman over 30 years ago. Until they can get the cloning right, Dr. Zuk is using the tooth to promote cancer awareness.
