Yes! One step closer to the Transformers! South Korean researchers at the Advanced Institute of Science and Technology have spent buckets of money creating a prototype for the Armadillo-T folding car.
It behaves much like the armoured mammal its named after, which folds itself over itself and rolls itself into a ball as a defence mechanism. Unfortunately the car looks like one of those plastic toys kids ride around the shopping-mall and you have to get out the car to fold it – which means you have to find a parking spot large enough for the full-sized vehicle before folding it nice and small, then someone parks behind you and you’re screwed. That aside, it’s a folding car and that’s awesome!
The car starts folding at 0:42 and looks like the batmobile putting its shields up. Check it out.
