We’d like to introduce you to Southeast Asia’s giant freshwater stingray. This badboy can grow to more than 16 feet long and 600 kilograms. And while it packs a 15-inch, poisonous, serrated stinger, it’s actually a gentle, inquisitive creature which was first described by scientists in 1990, and is already on the verge of extinction.
The stingray is almost mythically strong. In 2010, 15 fishermen spent six hours reeling one in – this thing has been known to pull boats below water.
