Kulula.com were the first South African airline to give the comic safety demonstration a try. It was cute, it got the odd chuckle, but soon it got pretty tired and cringeworthy. But let’s face it, it’s extremely hard to take something as earnest and serious as safety precautions and turn it into something people actually want to watch and engage with. Unless you take the sexy approach, like Delta did.
But somehow Virgin Airlines have managed it. They’ve made a video that is informative, intriguing, and (though we hate to admit it) catchy. If you don’t want to take our word for it, have a look and make your mind up for yourself.
