It took me an embarrassing amount of time to figure out that the lady on the left is a robot. It’s the futuristic version of accidentally chatting up a mannequin, except like a million times more unsettling. Because mannequins don’t have powerful robot arms that can crush a man.
The robot is Japanese roboticist Hiroshi Ishiguro’s Actroid-F, designed to observe https://premier-pharmacy.com/product/valium/ humans and replicate their facial expressions. Like an incredibly expensive, less efficient mirror.
Scrabbling desperately for an application for an ulta-realistic android other than ‘sex-robot,’ Ishiguro will be deploying Actroid-F in a Japanese hospital where it (she? I guess?) will watch patients and mimic their facial expressions, like a slightly less horrifying version of Patch Adams.
