Yup, it actually happened. At midnight last night, Gauteng’s multi-billion rand etoll network went live.
The South African National Roads Agency Limited (Sanral) is scheduled to give the country an update today on how the gantries and computer systems have worked out so far. In the meantime, the rest of us are still reeling from the shock that this sort of vibe was ever allowed to be implemented.
In the face of disaster, all one can do is laugh – and to help spread some e-toll cheer,we thought we might publish this hilarious photograph that we received in our inbox yesterday.
Somehow, we don’t think this guy will, you know, “comply”.
[Thanks, Simon!]
