So Johannesburg hasn’t really caught a break today. Several roads in Jozi are flooded this morning as a result of heavy rain, according to emergency services. These included Klip Valley Road and New Canada Road in Soweto and William Nicol and Goldman roads near Florida.
Emergency Services spokesperson, Robert Mulaudzi said that emergency services would be on high alert to ensure that areas affected by flooding were evacuated as soon as possible.
We will be monitoring areas such as Alexandra, Diepsloot and Ivory Park.
Children have been warned to stay away front the drainage systems. Thus far there have been no reported incidents of drowning or any accidents caused by the rain, however a plane crashed this morning killing three.
