Two people are hoping to show that crowdfunding should not only be used to launch the next app or indie film, but to make the world that tiny bit better. Pete and Sarah Portal are trying to save Manenberg by inspiring change in one of Cape Town’s most gang-infested communities. Here’s how you can help.
The Portals are renovating a house in Manenberg, which they want to use for community members who need help getting out of gangs and off drugs. The Manenberg House forms part of a project called ‘Fusion.’ They are hoping to raise close to R460,000, that will go a long way in renovating the house and supporting those affected by crime and drugs.
