A couple of celebrities and politicians are throwing their weight behind a campaign to ban the word “bossy.” Among them are Beyonce, Victoria Beckham, Jennifer Garner and former US secretary of state, Condoleezza Rice.
The campaign claims that the word “bossy” is a derogatory remark that discourages young girls from becoming leaders and speaking out. The campaign was launched by Facebook’s chief operating officer, Sheryl Sandberg. She said that when she spoke to business women, she found that most of them were called ‘bossy’ at some point.
