Some people have to play sport for a national side or grace the cover of a magazine to be considered a “god” in the modern era, but all you really need is a tail. Duh!
13-year-old Arshid Ali Khan, from Punjab, India, was born with a fleshy appendage out of his lower-back that really does resemble a tail, and a portion of the Indian community believes he is the incarnation of Hanuman (pictured above), a Hindu monkey god. Put that on your CV, Arshid.
This tail has been given to me by God. I am worshipped because I pray to god and the wishes of people come true.
The problem is Arshid has problems walking and currently uses a wheelchair, and if the tail is removed, he will be able to walk fine. What’s the real problem then? Well, Arshid is afraid that people will stop believing in him and travelling to see him, making him just a “normal” boy.
