In a mass protest (expected to be half a million people) for a number of democratic rights, people took to the streets of Hong Kong to let their voices and presence be known. And they did a damn fine job, because that many people is pretty hard to ignore.
The protest marks the anniversary of the handover from Britain to China in 1997, but there are more zovirax issues fuelling the protest this time around. There’s a lot of civil anger regarding China’s refusal to allow the people of Hong Kong to have a free vote in the election to decide the new leader of the city.
