Squashing a whole group of people into a small taxi is not ideal, especially if you want to look fresh-to-death when arriving at the planned party/get-together destination.
Uber has conveniently solved this problem by announcing the UberXL option, which has added bigger cars to their fleet.
The new low-cost six-seater option on the popular transport app will send a Toyota Avanza or equivalent to pick up your group of friends.
And the rates? Still super affordable, with the price being R7/km, R0.70 a minute, with a base fare of R20 and minimum fare of R30, so it won’t break the bank. And the fact that you can fair-split with your friends only adds to the value.
