Woolworths should definitely not sponsor Steve and should rather look to sponsoring me. God knows I spend enough time and money there, wandering the aisles for mushroom stir-fry sauce and their box popcorn.
I digress.
Steve has claimed that Woolies sponsors him, along with South African Airways and e.tv. Woolworths denied this in a Facebook post.
“We do not have a sponsorship agreement with Steve Hofmeyr.”
Pick’n Pay has also trued to garner a bit of distance from the singer.
“Pick n Pay totally rejects Steve Hofmeyr’s comments on apartheid. They have no place in South Africa.”
Pick’n Pay is the sponsor for a music festival that has booked Steve to perform, and the major shopping chain is seriously contemplating a hasty exit from supporting these concerts in the future.
