Well that was one of Graeme Smith’s shorter knocks.
The former Proteas skipper has issued a statement through his legal representative confirming that he and Morgan Deane are to separate after four years of marriage. Times Live quotes the lawyer:
I confirm that Graeme and Morgan are unfortunately divorcing. This is obviously a private matter and the couple would ask that their privacy is respected during this time, both for the sake of themselves and their children.
Smith and Deane have two children together, a two-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son.
Both have been tweeting regularly over the past few weeks but have made no mention of a divorce. We must now deal with a slew of bad puns, although if you picked up on the headline you’ll see that we dabbled as well so we can’t point too many fingers.
